Ed Banigan and Aleksandra Galisyna help co-organize the 2024 International Summer School & Genome Architecture and Function Workshop this July 8th to 12th at Northeastern University. Ed and Sasha organized speakers and the summer school, increasing the diversity and participation by your researchers.
About the Workshop
2024 International Summer School & Genome Architecture and Function Workshop will gather over 100 attendees to discuss the latest developments and methods in genome architecture and their connections to biological function. Inherent to this research are fundamental questions about the two-way relationships between chromosome structure (sequence, material, and biochemical) and function. Addressing these questions requires integrating ideas across multiple fields, including biological physics, molecular and cell biology, and computer science. Therefore, connections between scientists studying these diverse subjects have contributed to the enormous advances in biology, biophysics, and bioinformatics of the genome in recent years. Our meeting seeks to build on these advances and identify and discuss new pathways and questions for researchers to pursue in the coming years.
Summer School
During a 1.5 day summer school preceding the Genome , six lecturers will lead tutorials on critical themes and techniques, including analysis of Hi-C data, machine learning, computer simulation, and image analysis. These tutorials will offer attendees, particularly trainees, the opportunity to develop new practical research skills through hands-on activities and guidance from emerging leaders in these areas.
